STATEMENT OF FAITH

OUR CHURCH: Statement of Faith

The statement of faith does not exhaust the extent of our faith. The Bible itself is the sole and final source of all that we believe. We do believe, however, that the following statement of faith accurately represents the teaching of the Bible, and therefore, is binding upon all matters.

A. The Holy Bible

1. We believe that the Holy Bible was written by divinely inspired men; that it is truth without error; and therefore is, and

shall remain to the end of the age, the only complete and firm revelation of the will of God to man; the true center of

Christian union and the supreme standard by which all human conduct, creeds and opinions should be judged.

2. By "The Holy Bible" we mean that collection of sixty-six books, from Genesis to Revelation which as originally written

does not only contain and convey the Word of God, but is the Word of God.

3. By "inspired" we mean that the books of the Bible were written by holy men, moved by the Holy Spirit, in such a definite

way that their writings were divinely inspired and free from error as no other writings have ever been or ever will be

    inspired.

Scripture Reference: Acts 1:16; II Timothy 3:16-17; 11 Peter 1:19-21

B. Of the True God

We believe that there is one, and only one, living and true God. and infinite Intelligent spirit, Maker and Supreme Ruler of

heaven and earth; inexpressibly glorious in holiness and worthy of possible honor, confidence and love: that in the unity

of the Godhead there are three persons; Father, the Son and Holy Ghost, equal in divine perfection, and executing

distinct but harmonious offices in the great work of redemption.

    Scripture Reference: Exodus 20:2-3; Deuteronomy 6:4; John 14:10; 1 Corinthians 8:6: 11 Corinthians 13:14;                                                           Ephesians 4:6

C. The Person and Work of Christ

     1. We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God, became man, without ceasing to be God, having been

conceived by the Holy Spirit and born Of the virgin Mary, so that He might reveal God and redeem sinful men.

         Scripture Reference: Isaiah 7:14, 9:6; Luke 1:35; John 1:1-2, 14; II Corinthians 5:19-21: Galatians 4:4-5;

                                           Philippians 2:5-8

     2.  We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ accomplished our redemption through His death on the cross as a

representative, vicarious, substitutionary sacrifice:;  that He was buried and, that our justification is made sure by

His literal, physical resurrection fro m the dead.

          Scripture Reference: Acts 2:18-36; Romans 3: 24-25: Ephesians 1:7: Peter 1:3-5  I Peter 2:24

     3. We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ ascended to Heaven, and is now exalted at the right hand of God, where, as

our High Priest, He fulfills the ministry of representative, Intercessor, and Advocate.

         Scripture Reference: Acts 1:9-10; Romans 8:34; Hebrews 9:24, 7:25;  I John 2:1-2

D. The Person and Work of the Holy Spirit

     We believe that the Holy Spirit is a divine person equal with God the Father and God the Son and of the same nature;

that He was active in the creation; that in His relation to the unbelieving world He restrains the Evil one until God's

purpose is fulfilled; that He convicts of sin, of judgment and of righteousness; that He bears witness to the Truth of the

Gospel in preaching and testimony: that He is the agent in the New Birth; that He seals, endues, guides, teaches,

witnesses, sanctifies, and helps the believer.

     Scripture Reference: Genesis 1:1-3; Matthew 28:19; John 14:16-17. 26; Hebrews 9:14

E.  Salvation

We believe that salvation is the gift of God to man by grace and received by personal faith in Lord Jesus Christ, Whose

precious blood was shed on Calvary for the forgiveness of sins. Nothing prevents the salvation of the greatest sinner on       earth but his own inherent depravity and voluntary rejection of Christ; which rejection involves him in an aggravated

     condemnation.

     Scripture Reference: John 1:12, 3:15-16, 18. 36; Ephesians 1:7, 2:8-10; I Peter 1:18-19

F.  Repentance and Faith

We believe that Repentance and Faith are solemn obligations, and also inseparable graces, wrought in our souls by the

quickening Spirit of God, thereby, being deeply convicted of our guilt, danger and helplessness, and of the way of

salvation by Christ, we turn to God with genuine contrition, confession and supplication for mercy; at the same time

heartily receiving the Lord Jesus Christ and openly confessing Him as our only and all-sufficient Savior.

     Scripture Reference: Mark 1:15; Luke 18:13; Acts 20:21; Romans 10:9-11, 13

G. Justification

We believe that the great Gospel blessing which Christ secures to those who believe in his Justification; that

Justification includes the pardon of sin, the gift of eternal life on principled righteousness, that it is bestowed not in

consideration of any works of righteousness we have done -- but the Redeemer's righteousness is imputed unto us

solely through faith in the, blood.

     Scripture Reference: Acts 13:39; Romans 5:1, 9, 8:1
